Some projects resonate on a deeper level. When you wrap a shoot and realize the videos you’ve created will help keep thousands of people safe at work every single day, that’s the kind of impact that drives our work at Techboogie.
When United Collab approached us to collaborate with Home Depot on their nationwide safety training program, we were immediately on board. Two days, two cities, and one mission: create training videos that deliver real-world results.

The Setup: Making Safety Training Engaging
United Collab has served as Home Depot’s creative partner for years, producing their internal safety and training content across the United States and beyond. When they needed a production team to bring fresh perspective and technical expertise to document new equipment procedures, they reached out to Techboogie.
Our objective was to capture Home Depot employees demonstrating proper usage of new machinery and tools with clarity, detail, and safety as the top priority. Beyond filming, we actively monitored for safety issues on-site, ensuring every frame reflected Home Depot’s high workplace standards.
Working alongside United Collab’s producer and Home Depot’s training executives, we engaged in a creative collaboration with one clear goal: create content that genuinely protects employees.
This is the kind of work that energizes our team.
What We Set Out to Do
The goals were crystal clear:
- Document new safety procedures for Home Depot’s internal training platform
- Keep it real – capture authentic employee demonstrations, not awkward staged performances
- Fix issues on the fly – address safety concerns in real-time and adjust accordingly
- Deliver on time and on budget while staying flexible in a fast-paced, live work environment
If there’s one thing Techboogie’s known for, it’s adapting on the go, making this project an ideal fit for our approach.

Lights, Camera, Safety
Day One: Sacramento
We began by following Home Depot employees through their actual daily routines—no scripts, just real people performing real work. Using multiple camera angles and working with various equipment (including brand-new machinery), we focused on capturing every detail accurately.
Day Two: Daly City
The second day introduced new machinery, updated safety protocols, and a faster production pace. Our crew moved efficiently, adjusting framing and lighting on the fly while maintaining our safety-first approach.
Both days featured strong collaborative momentum. We regularly paused to review footage with the training director, reshot when necessary, and refined the details. The atmosphere was focused yet comfortable—exactly how we work best.
Navigating Challenges
No shoot goes exactly as planned, and this one kept us on our toes in the best way.
Challenge: The schedule was flexible (read: things changed as new safety issues popped up).
Our Move: We stayed nimble, reworking setups and timelines in real-time without breaking a sweat.
Challenge: Filming in active stores meant capturing authentic footage without getting in shoppers’ way.
Our Move: We maintained a minimal footprint and created a comfortable environment so employees could remain natural on camera.
Challenge: Turning technical procedures into visual storytelling that actually makes sense.
Our Move: We collaborated directly with Home Depot’s execs and United Collab’s producer to nail the technical accuracy and keep it engaging.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
This project exemplified the power of true collaboration.
We worked alongside:
- United Collab’s producer and cinematographer – leading creative direction and keeping everything aligned with Home Depot’s content standards
- Three Home Depot executives – making sure every detail was accurate and compliant
- Techboogie’s cinematographer – framing, lighting, and capturing clean visuals in live, unpredictable environments
The whole set had this vibe of mutual respect and shared purpose. We always say flexibility is our superpower, and this shoot proved it.
The Results
By the end of those two days, we’d created a full set of internal training videos covering multiple machinery types and safety procedures.
The highlights:
- Delivered on time and within budget
- Got glowing feedback from both United Collab and Home Depot’s training team
- Videos now are live in Home Depot’s internal training platform, helping reinforce safety and prevent injuries every single day
But here’s what really matters: knowing our work is out there protecting thousands of employees? That’s the good stuff. That’s why we do what we do.
What’s Next
This partnership reminded us what Techboogie does best: create media that makes a difference. Whether it’s corporate training, recruitment campaigns, community storytelling, or whatever else comes our way, we bring creativity, adaptability, and a whole lot of heart to every project.
Big thanks to United Collab for bringing us into the mix. We’re ready for whatever’s next — let’s make something amazing together.
